MAIA

Multi-Dimensional Expressionist, MAIA, is a producer, songwriter, composer, instrumentalist, (vibraphone/harp/flute) vocalist, bandleader and a SAG/AFTRA actor who has appeared on prominent main stages, film, television and radio across the USA, Brazil, Mozambique, Poland and Sardinia, Italy. Maia is a member of Chicago’s AACM, the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians and Los Angeles’ Pan Afrikan Peoples Arkestra and is known for her incredible work as an educator, having specialized in voice training for children and adults, including adults with developmental disabilities for over 25 years.

Maia’s latest project, Jazzpoetry entitled, THE DAY THE EARTH SHOOK HAITI, launches her role as film producer/director/composer. THE DAY THE EARTH SHOOK HAITI is soon to be released to benefit earthquake devastated Haiti and features Son Light Arts Revival, comprised of Los Angeles’ finest talent. Maia is the quintessential mom who has portrayed “the mother” in various notable films such as; TRUTH HALL, WALKING IN SUNSHINE, and soon to be released movie HIT LIST starring, Joseph Lawrence and directed by Minh Collins. The Lockhavens, a comedic tv pilot in which Maia portrays the mother of two warlocks, can be viewed at
www.thelockhavens.com. LADY DAY AT EMERSON’S BAR AND GRILL earned Maia a prestigious award nomination.
